Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka is a Belarussian born in Minsk. Her father Sergey (d. 2019.) was an athlete in ice hockey. Aryna Sabalenka was born on May 5, 1998, in Minsk Belarus. Aryna's Sabalenka holds 12 WTA Singles titles. One of which was crowned "Grand Slam" at the Australian Open 2023. Doubles is another aspect where she is a pro. The US Open 2019, and Australian Open 2021 were both taken by Elise Mertens. Additionally, she was able to complete The Sunshine Double in 2019, winning her the WTA 1000 at Indian Wells, Miami and the Australian Open with Elise Mertens. This feat was accomplished by four couples competing in the women's doubles. Then, in January 2023 was ranked the highest in singles. The 23rd day of August 2021, she climbed to second place in the list of rankings. In doubles however she pushed herself to first at the beginning of February that year following her victory in Melbourne and becoming the 2nd tennis player born in Belarus to achieve success in this area. Dmitry Tursunov was her coach for the duration of 2018, till her season ended in 2019, and also for a short period at the beginning of 2020. The pair also briefly worked with Dieter Kindlmann from August to September of 2020. From the beginning of 2020 she has been coached by her countryman Antonio Dubrov. Serena Williams is her role for a role model, closely followed by Maria Sharapova.
